Whatever happened to Ms Tessa Kuragi??

This shoot I absolutely love, I don't have anything like this is my book.... see what you think
shot by the lovely
and hair by the talented Emilia Lilly Hermelin

I used Mac in Russian Red on the lips, black track on the eyes as a flick liner, bobbi brown on the skin and mineralise powder on the skin

Ok so its been a while guys I have to updated you since last year.  I have neglected my blog as I have been so busy.... sorry - its happens!

So I got a fab call in for a 5 day job in New York for a big Bollywood star RanI Mukherjee
of course I said yes!!!
So there I was packing to shimmy on on to New York - I was so excited!!! (but not for my bank balance!)

So I arrived in NYC and straight to work that day getting Rani ready for a Red carpet event and switching on the lights at the empire State Building and then working for the next few days it was fab and the weather was amazing!
I spent my free time mostly in... wait for it at Sephora and ended up replenishing my already replenished kit!!!

getting Rani ready for NASDAQ ringing the bell for the start of the financial week for the stock market

Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up being stranded out in NYC as Hurricane Irene was on its way so my stay turned into a 2 week shopping spree!
Loved New York managed to sightsee the Empire state, The Statue of Liberty, catch show, catch up with friends including Michelle Webb and Naomi Gray eat plenty and my fab friend dave put me up in his fab apartment in the west village!

I also managed to make it across to the bobbi brown studio in Montclair and got a few more MUCH needed bits for my kit!!! LOL this is lovely bella from the studio isn't she adorable!

New York is one of my favourites cities.......I am looking forward to going back again! x x x

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Bollywood Actress Anushka Sharma for a Red Carpet event at the 02.

I wanted to create a really classic, natural but radiant look so used the following:

I used a Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation all over the skin, Stila Convertible colour in Gerbera on the cheeks, 'Temptress' Lashes by Blink and Go to give some flutterby lashes, a coating of YSL False Effects Mascara, Black Ink gel eyeliner by mac and a coating of plush pink stain on the lips.  I also used a goldy hightlighter to define above the cheekbones by Barbara Daly.

Loved this look so much and she loved it too!!!
So simple but real red carpet glamour!

I have had a really exciting summer working on BOLLYWOOD!
It just came up unexpectantly in June with a phonecall beacuse someone had seen my website and BINGO I got my first job on a big Bollywood Feature film

I have been working with Deepika Padukone for this film and it will hopefully release in February 2012 - WATCH THIS SPACE

She is so lovely inside and out and I'm looking forward to working with her again in a months time! :)

We shot in the UK for some time, then went out to India to shoot and am shortly heading out to South Africa for the final part of the film.... Its been long days but lovely teams and a fab experience....

here are a few behind the scenes pics and a couple of the hairstyles I chose...

Did a fab shoot on a very sunny day a while back with the lovely
The inspirations was the 60's and hippy chick, I did both the hair and make up on this shoot and really loved the outcome... see for yourself it was recently published....

June was a busy month for me... here are a couple of bits I did in June...

Beauty: some behind the scenes and then a final shot with a very lovely photographer called Kristina and fab model called Eva.

There were 2 looks:

1 - really clean and commercial like
I started with a clean Bobbi Brown base and concealer and contoured and highlighted the face to make the most of evas structure, I used single lashes by salon systems to perfect her eyelashes and then a nude Givenchy on the lips - see what you think

something all make up artists should have in their kits is the HD Brows palette, the pigments are amazing and I would never leave the house without it!
check it out

The second look was more of a classic red lip and velvet falwless skin
I used benefits' Hoola as a contour, NARS Jungle Red for the lips and strobe cream as the highlights.

I wanted the hair to be really smooth and with a simple wave which I created with a Babyliss wand, some bumble and bumble smoothing creme and lots of brushing out with a mason and pearson! : )

Here is the final result

I'm back, its been a manic summer and I have so many things to tell you about!
I've been working in India, New York and am due to head out to South Africa in a month...
I have been shooting editorials, Bollywood, fashion and lots of beauty....
keep reading and I'll give you a little snaek peak into my life over the summer
Enjoy x

Download 2011-05-2...jpg (1492.1 KB)  Download 2011-05-2...jpg (1558.9 KB)

Check out these little beauties a complete must have for your kit!  They are light, compact and hold all your favourite lip shades and foundations.

I have used Japonesque palettes for the last few years and thought I would blog about them because they are one of my favourite palettes.
For all you out there who hate carrying around all your lippies and want to make your life easier then definitely invest in a couple of these - you just have to simply scoop or slice your favs into the palette.
You can colour code your palettes,  and also if you have creamy concealers then you can build your own foundation and concealer palette.
They will need a clean every so often because the divider sits on your lipsticks but apart from that are amazing!

You can get them in a quite a few places starting from just £9:

Also be sure to ask about pro make up artist discounts as these websites have great products to start building up your kit.
Happy Shopping!!!

Yet again Guerlain have made smile with this amazingly beautiful elegant 2011 Inca collection - WOW is what you will say!
The packaging yet again is just exquisite and I don't think you'll pass the counters without wanting to look and touch!

These little beauties have come just in time for the scorching summer!
don't you just love the packaging?
these dangerously delicious colours look good enough to eat...they come in three shades:

07 Salsa: a luminous fuchsia
08 Mambo: an intense coral
09 Tango: a vibrant red

and are quite sheer on application so don't worry the colours are not what they seem!
These are amazing for a quick sheer gloss on clean lips but even better over a coral, red or fushia!  the bonus is they are non-sticky so no hairy lips! : )
I just love these  - THEY ROCK!

another fab eyeshadow from the realms of Guerlain are these little sticks,
This hybrid creation offers the softness of a powder, the richness of a cream and the lightness of water!
These look amazing on the eyes and go on like silk, you can layer up to create intensity once each layer has dried so again making as sheer or dark as you like.

I have a massive love for Guerlain, I just love their pots and  packaging and the fragrances of their powders, they are so beautiful and elegant and one of my favourites is the the Guerlain Meteorites Pearls.  I found these last year and still can't get enough of them!

They are light reflecting and a fantastic silky powder over any tinted moisturiser or foundation you have on your skin.
Each of the pearls has its own properties pink gives a glorious warm glow; green diminishes high colour or redness; mauve attracts the light; white lightens; gold and silver create sparkle and highlights, subtle reflections, great for highlighting and making the skin look amazing in all kinds of light.

- try for yourself, you will fall in love!

I love the feeling of this on my skin it soft, smooth and feels like a second skin ( which is exactly what a foundation should feel like and look like!)  It feels like it just melts into the skin...ooohh ahhhh!
This is Guerlains' first hybrid foundation which creates that flawless look with the subtlety of a powder.  Its dreamy healthy glow with the envy of all you friends.

A perfect finish for this would be to apply some golden highlighter something like Chanel SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL Sheer Illuminating FluidSheer Illuminating fluid  (£31 from selfridges) which I use all the time on fresh skin or mixed in with a tinted moisturiser. Apply to the cheek bones, brow bones and bridge of the nose.
